Haceindo Historia (2009)

Alexander Abreu was already considered to be one of the best trumpetist that lived and worked in Cuba.
However, ever since Haciendo Historia and the formation of the excellent Havana D’primera, he is also regarded as one of the best composers and band leaders of his generation.

The album is very diverse with many musical genres that are blend into great melodies and complex arrangements.
The first track “ Resumen de los 90” sets the tone for the rest of the album as Alexander
pays homage to the Golden Timba generation of the 90’s.
Listeners will find reffereance to funk music (“Cuando el Rio Suena”) Colombian bayanato (“Historia Verdadera”) as well as Cuban Son.
All of these musical influences are blended beautifully and create a flawless debut album.
