50 Hronia Rebetiko

Between 1967 and 1974 a right wing military governed Greece. During these years, Rebetiko music was forbidden due to its provocative nature.
Right after the regime fall, George Dalaras picks the cream of the crop and curate 27 Rebetiko songs into a legendary double album.
Dollars’ arrangements, (heavy on Bouzouki), sticks to the basics of the traditional Rebetiko music, but sound is much richer as its was recorded with a relatively advanced technology.
From Vamvakaris and Bitsikotsis to Tsitsanis, Kalders and Zampetas. The hall of fame of the Rebetiko music is well represented in this Album.
